So, I finally decided to tune up my 4th gen iPod touch (I won it in a raffle 5 years ago, ok?). The power button and home buttons were stuck and the charge port was broken. Now, the guy in the JANAF store is apparently their expert on "legacy" iPods bc the VB location sent it there for the fix. They quoted me about $110 to fix these issues so i just got the charge port fixed for $85 (with $25 due at drop off and the rest later). They fixed the charge port as promised (took a few days) and I guess they were feeling generous bc my power button was fixed anyway and I think they even put a nice new screen protector on it. BUT, when I got it back, the music would only play on headphones out of one ear. I took it back and they put in a new headphone jack. Unfortunately that didn't fix the problem. They then said there was an issue with the board(??) which is not fixable, but they didn't charge me for the new jack. I'm a little salty about the headphone issue but with the charge port fixed, the sound plays just fine in my car through the usb cord and on my Jam speaker through the aux cord. Overall I'm happy. If you have a legacy iPod, the JANAF guy knows what's he's talking about. He even told me about the touch assist feature I never knew about. With that and the power button fixed, I can live with the broken home button. Taking off a star bc they could improve upon their professionalism/soft customer service skills. It was a little off putting but people in technology tend to lack that anyway.
